Documentary about political communication in Italy.

Spaghetti spin doctors is a documentary on agenda setting theory, on Italy, and on politics.

How is reality different from fiction?

In less than an hour you will discover the mechanism that underlies political communication, and you will learn a lot about Italian cuisine.

Does the media influence the public or vice versa? To answer this question, a university professor recruits a group of students, who have the task of creating a political candidate who is able to influence public opinion and the mass media, applying the theory of agenda setting. All this turns out to be a total fiasco, were it not for a group of “real spin doctors” …. and a real political candidate!

The documentary has two objectives, first to tell the story of Italy today, through the metaphor of political communication, second, to tell the general public about the theory of agenda setting, building a large-scale communication experiment. All seasoned with interviews with experts, journalists, screenwriters and communications operators, who will help us understand the boundary between reality and fiction.
